Mikisiw-Pinēsiw Art & Designs
"Kecia Cook is and Ojibway/Cree artist from Treaty 5 territory. She has been living in Saskatchewan for more then ten years. She is a multi-disciplinary artist that works with acrylic paints, traditional beading and sewing. Kecia's inspiration comes from her culture and traditional floral designs. Beading and sewing was passed on from her late nokom Francis Cook.
The name of her business is Mikisiw-Pinesiw Art & Designs. This means "Eagle-Thunderbird" in swampy cree dialect. This represents the spirit helpers that share the teachings of love, family, strength, community and more. Kecia hopes that these helpers will fly with her on this artistic journey as she continues to share her work across turtle island. She sells and makes clothing, artwork, beading, ribbon skirts and more."
